A Great New Year is on the Horizon
In this moment, small things can seem so important. But taking the time to truly reflect can allow you to see them in the scheme of the larger picture. Looking in hindsight at 2020, so much has evolved in the world. The one thing that I continue to be proud of is the work of our members. This year’s inaugural virtual convention was second to none and the recipients of this year’s IEC National Awards are true role models.
Every project completed was unique from the last and stands on its own as a work of art. However, there are always certain projects and members that stand out above the rest and create a new bar that everyone will aim to surpass in the coming year. It is for this reason that we continue to grow our IEC National Awards Program and recognize the best of the best. We recognized over 100 contractors, projects, and individuals with awards for their standout designs, implementation, and performance.
The Excellence in Electrical Contracting awards recognize the most remarkable projects and companies in the industry. The winning projects have all been completed within the past year and fall under one of these six unique categories: Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Limited Energy, Green, and Service. You can learn all about the projects and service contractors beginning on page 18.
The IEC National Individual/Chapter awards are presented to groups and individuals who have made an incredible impact on IEC. These awards cover everything from the Apprentice of the Year to Chapters of the Year, to the National Member of the Year, to the IEC Legacy Award. All of these individuals and chapters have gone above and beyond the call of duty to support our industry and help IEC achieve all of the impressive goals we’ve met this year. Without everyone that received these awards– as well as those that did not – we would not be the strong, cohesive association that we are today. You can learn more about how these groups and individuals have supported IEC, the industry, and their local communities beginning on page 37.
I know how many exceptional electrical and systems contractors we are blessed to have as members of IEC. I also know that you are all more than capable of receiving one of these esteemed awards with the great work that you do. I challenge you to take a risk, put yourself out there, and submit your company or yourself for one or more of these awards. You are one of the best contractors in the country; now let’s prove it to the world!
