APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR
This year we welcomed 24 contestants
to IEC National’s Apprentice of the Year
(AOY) competition. Held during IEC’s
annual Convention & Expo, apprentices
competed in six events: written exam,
ladder logic exam, conduit bending,
troubleshooting, jobsite productivity
(speed exercise), and the hands-
on motor control competition.
The following AOY competitors placed
highest in their respective event:
• Written Exam: Michael Curtis, Integrity
Electric, IEC Rocky Mountain
• Ladder Logic Exam: Michael Curtis,
Integrity Electric, IEC Rocky Mountain
• Conduit Bending: Gregory Hayhurst,
DeRock Electric, Central PA
