                 IEC Rocky Mountain

Weifield Group Contractingwas recognized for its work
on the Verizon NEC2A Data Center.
Verizon’s continuous uptime was critical and the
organization’s stringent protocols added an extra layer
of pressure across the holistic team – however, Weifield’s
engrained focus on extensive pre-planning, detailed
procedures, and precise execution proved to be just
the combination we needed to accomplish this project
successfully. Weifield performed our work at night to install
12 new remote power panels (RPPs) and our every step,
and the steps of everyone on the project, were guided by
comprehensive Methods of Procedure (MOPs) detailing
what we were going to do each night, where we were going
to do it, and the associated hazards involved. Weifield and
The Martin Group (General Contractor) wrote and closely
followed the extensive MOPs which needed to be custom-
developed for each phase of the project and approved by
multiple levels of Verizon management before work could
begin. If the MOP wasn’t approved, the team needed to fix
it quickly in order to not delay work any further – factoring
in the time it took to get approvals for the revisions.

Despite Weifield’s best plans, a major unexpected hurdle
presented itself early on in the project that made our
ability to adapt and innovate equally – and perhaps
more – important than our procedure focus and near-
surgical execution had been, up until that point. Weifield
rose to the challenge, finding a solution and shaving
nearly two months off of the project’s completion date
while absorbing the more than 900 hours of unexpected
problem resolution time into the existing schedule.
